Q: What is typically your favorite genre of music?
A: I don’t really have a specific genre I stick to. I listen to almost anything, except country.
Q: Who is your favorite artist of this generation, and when did you start listening to them?
A: Is that even a question? My favorite artist of this generation is Bruno Mars. I started listening to him about 10 years ago, and he’s had a lot of really good songs released.
Q: How often do you listen to music?
A: Honestly, whenever I can. Basically every day. I usually have my AirPods in, or I’m playing music on a speaker or TV.
Q: Who do you think will perform at the next Super Bowl halftime show based on recent music?
A: It could be Bruno Mars since his music is really popular right now, and he’s performed before. Also, maybe Justin Bieber since he’s been putting out good songs. There’s a small chance for Shoreline Mafia too.
Q: What song is on your playlist this year?
A: A song on my playlist this year is “Die with a Smile” by Bruno Mars. The first time I heard it it sounded really good. It was a banger and just hit differently. I still know all the words to it.
Q: What makes “Die With a Smile” stand out from Bruno Mars’s other songs?
A: It has a mix of sadness and joy. The song feels emotional but uplifting at the same time. The lyrics and Bruno Mars’s vocals create a nostalgic feeling that makes you reflect on life, even on things you might not usually think about. Overall, it leaves you feeling happy despite its deeper tone.
Q: Are there any specific lyrics that stand out to you?
A: The chorus stands out the most, especially the line “If the world was ending I’d wanna be next to you,” It sticks and feels meaningful, especially when thinking about someone special. It’s the kind of lyric you could dedicate to someone.
Q: What are your top songs on repeat right now?
• “Die With a Smile” – Bruno Mars
• “Blame Me” – OHGEESY
• “Agora Hills” – Doja Cat
Q: How does your playlist reflect who you are as a person?
A: My playlist is very diverse. It includes oldies, Chicano music, and rap. It reflects my background and influences, especially from my mom. Even if I don’t fully live the lifestyle some of the music represents, I connect with the culture, the style, and the overall vibe.
Q: What is the main genre in your playlist and why?
A: Rap is probably the main genre, even though I also listen to a lot of oldies. Rap just makes up a bigger portion of my playlist overall.
Q: If you had to pick one country song, what would it be and why?
A: “Tennessee Whiskey.” Even though I don’t usually like country, this song stands out because of its smooth vibe and overall feel.
